Enrollment
Riverside Arts Academy accepts enrollment three times a year for music classes. Below you can register for the current session. All students must complete enrollment by the deadline listed below, including submission of all required paperwork.

Below is a list of all current RAA programs for new and returning students
RAA @ Cesar Chavez Band
Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Band classes have three levels based on ability: Premier (Beginning elementary students), Concert (Intermediate Elementary/Middle School students), Honors (Advanced Middle/High School students). Students will be assigned to a class upon completing registration.
Grades: 4-12
Instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion
RAA @ Cesar Chavez Strings
Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

RAA @ Cesar Chavez Choir (Saturdays)
Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

This class offers group music instruction for students who want to sing in an ensemble setting. Students learn the basics of music theory, performance, and vocal technique. All RAA@Cesar Chavez Choir students will have unique opportunities to perform during a Winter & Spring Concert, the Annual Holiday Military Salute in front of the Mission Inn, and many other Riverside events!

Riverside Children’s Choir
Tuesday 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
​
This class offers group music instruction for students who want to sing in an ensemble setting. Students learn the basics of music theory, performance, and vocal technique. All Riverside Children’s Choir students will have unique opportunities to perform during a Winter & Spring Concert, the Annual Military Salute in front of the Mission Inn, and many other Riverside events! All students must audition.

Riverside Youth Orchestra
Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
​
The Riverside Youth Orchestra is a classical music ensemble for advanced student musicians in the Riverside area. The orchestra performs classical and contemporary orchestral repertoire selected by the Music Director. Members of RYO learn to perform at an advanced level and serve as peer mentors to other RAA students. All RYO students will perform during the Winter & Spring Concert, the Annual Military Salute in front of the Mission Inn, and many other Riverside events!

Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium, Percussion

Drums and Percussion
Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

This class offers group music instruction for student musicians who play drums and other percussion instruments. Students learn the basics of music theory and performance. All RAA @Cesar Chavez students will have unique opportunities to perform during a Winter & Spring Concert, Gala Concert, the Annual Military Salute in front of the Mission Inn, and many other Riverside events!

Grades: 4-12
​
Instruments: Percussion including but not limited to: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Marimba, Xylophone, Vibraphone, Bucket Drums, and more.
RAA Digital Music Production
RAA Mariachi Juvenil de Riverside
Saturdays 9:00 am to 11:00 am
​
Students in the RAA Digital Music Production class will enjoy immersing themselves in the world of recording and digital music technology! This is an introductory course, no prior music experience is required. Students will present their projects at the Winter and Spring concerts.
​
Grades: 7-12
Mondays and Wednesdays (5:00-7:00pm); AND Saturdays, 9:00am-12:00pm
​
​Students in the RAA Mariachi Juvenil de Riverside will enjoy immersing themselves in the wonderful tradition of mariachi music! Students will learn the traditional musical style of mariachi and perform as an ensemble.

Instruments: Violin, Trumpet, Guitar, Vihuela, Guitarron, Harp
